XTREME SPACES™ IS A PRE-REVENUE START-UP SEEKING INVESTMENT
PURPOSE
The purpose of Project Para Bellum is to propose a “project” that I, Phill Robson, as an Ex-Serviceman (Army: Royal Corps of Signals: 1985-2007), and CEO/Founder of Xtreme Spaces Ltd, believe could greatly benefit Ex-Military Personnel and Civilian alike, in the UK who may become homeless and/or unemployed.
In partnership with my pre-revenue start up business, Xtreme Spaces Ltd, I am implementing a plan which will facilitate Ex-Military Personnel and Civilians, regarding the provision of a living space in a way which provides a safe community working collaboratively and sustainably.
We are seeking Partners, to be a vital part of the project and join with us on the journey ahead.
AIMS
The principal aims of the project are to:
1. Provide living spaces, complete with appropriate infrastructure, in a suitable environment for both Ex-Military Personnel and Civilian alike.
2. Provide employment opportunities within, and by the creation of, these environments for those homeless Persons.
3. Create portable and modular living space which offers, amongst other things, the following:
(a) Versatility – The whole concept emanates from my business venture, Xtreme Spaces, which was initially conceived to provide multi-use space in which clients could meet their needs for leisure and/or office facilities as an adjunct to their home.
Of its nature, the additional space thereby provided, whilst inherently affordable, might also become associated with professional people needing overflow space for their primary living space.
This objective remains important, as a business venture for me, but the previous hard years of the pandemic has permitted me moments for reflection arising out of which I see a wider benefit that breaks down social and geographical boundaries in a manner which is also sustainable.
(b) Affordability – Consistent with the basics of modular construction, the cost of a completed unit is inherently more economic than with traditional construction. That is not just in terms of initial capital outlay but also in terms of re-purposing the modules (as fashions and technology change). There are further benefits from the life cycle cost perspective in that the module can readily be moved to another location should its owner move to another area.
(c) Ease of Construction – Because modular construction permits on-site assembly of precision factory components, the assembly process itself
requires less formal skills than are associated with the construction industry in general and can therefore be assembled by Homeless Personnel themselves who, in the process, will develop transferable skills whether because modular construction becomes a more widely adopted solution to accommodation needs or this becomes a bridgehead for Ex-Military and Civilian Homeless Personnel entering, for example, the construction industry or project managing further projects which extend from this initiative.
(d) Adaptability – Modular construction permits myriad permutations of layout thus permitting a greater element of personalisation of living space than is possible with typical housing schemes across the country.
(e) Sustainability – The precise assembly of prefabricated units reduces construction waste. The facility to extend or relocate any such unit also avoids the sort of needless waste associated with invasive upgrades associated with traditionally built homes as technology and fashions change.
(f) Portability – This is in two parts. First, the modular panels are lightweight and can be installed by two people without lifting equipment. Secondly, if ever the module’s owner moves to another area then the module can, of its portable nature, be relocated with them.
(g) Levelling Up – From an idea inspired by creating space for professional people who have outgrown their existing space, there is a solution here which allows Xtreme Space’s modules to become someone’s “travelling” space.
This will involve the utilisation of “brownfield sites” and the subsequent saving on site acquisition costs will lead to a position where so called “affordable housing” is indeed affordable.
(h) Nominal Infrastructure – With our on-board partners, we can expand on our current concepts, designs, ideas etc, to determine how to achieve our goals more quickly and easily, how to build the living space more efficiently and to enhance the value of the existing project infrastructure.
(i) Future Proofing – We can, in some way and effectively, accommodate the future and developing methods for design, climate change, sustainability, technology, power and the build of the spaces for persons in the future.
(j) Social Mobility – Implementing the movement of Ex-Military and Homeless Personnel between social strata in our society. The creation of a vibrant, healthy and economic environment which increases job training programmes and job opportunities within the project framework.
(k) Autonomy – Those people living in these “environments” will be able in some way to “self-govern” in terms of security, manning, management, operations etc, and thereby their own actions and behaviour will determine their own independence and freedom compared to their current status.
Potential partners have been, and are continuously, approached with whom we will, and wish to, collaborate and whose own spheres of influence complement our own.
PARTNERS:
Such partners come from the following sectors:
1. Institutional, e.g. Government and charities already working with Ex-Military Personnel and or Civilian Homeless Persons, such as the ROYAL BRITISH LEGION (RBL/RBLI) and SHELTER
2. Power/Energy, e.g. we are connecting with Power/Energy Companies to provide sustainable energy and power to the living spaces, homes and communities which could include alternative energy and power provision systems (biofuels, wind turbines, hydrogen cell technology, air source heat pumps, solar panel strips etc.). These companies can utilise the project to showcase initiatives that provide sustainable energy and power concepts for a better environmental impact, help reduce carbon emissions and “future-proof” living aspects for the home.
3. Construction, e.g. we wish to partner with Companies, from the construction industry to help us improve and develop our current designs and concepts to ensure that a structural engineering calculation, FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and 3D Model can be created to help showcase our plans. The modules can then be manufactured, and built, to include interior and exterior designs to help improve these and create future designs of such living spaces, homes, and communities.
4. Fit-Out, e.g. we wish to partner with, and have approached, those of the leading furniture companies known for their forward-thinking regarding wellbeing, sustainability, future living concepts etc, who will utilise the project for their own CSR opportunities as well as providing sustainable living space furniture, household items and space saving concepts for the project.
5. Banking, e.g. we wish to partner with a high street bank which is taking an enabling approach to facilitating people in less fortunate circumstance so that they may partake in economic activity starting with the simple concept of having a bank account even if they do not have an address!
There is a natural synergy between the partners in this collaborative project and their involvement permits:
· Achievement of their CSR objectives for 2023 and beyond.
· Valuable marketing exposure.
· A contribution to a creative sustainability initiative.
· Support to a unique levelling up campaign.
All partners are invited to discuss 'commercial' opportunities with Xtreme Spaces Ltd as part of their partnership
